BC | B22 | Bayonet Cap Chrome Switched Safer Lampholder 1/2" Entry
This BC | B22 | Bayonet Cap Chrome Switched Safer Lampholder 1/2" Entry is an excellent choice for restoring a table lamp or creating a bespoke light fitting. Featuring a convenient integrated switch for easy on/off control at the lampholder, it offers both practicality and a stylish, refined look.
This lampholder comes in 3 main parts; the cap which is the section that screws onto the fixing of the light fitting, the centre connection unit where you will connect the live (Brown) and neutral (Blue) and Earth (Yellow and Green) wires, and the skirt which will screw over the connection unit and onto the cap. Not to forget the locking ring (Thicker Ring) that holds the cap and skirt together and alongside the shade ring (Thinner Ring), it can be used to clamp a shade to this lampholder.
Safety Switched Lampholder
This is a special safer lampholder, making it ideal for children’s bedrooms or the elderly. Includes a red safety device pin between the lamp pins. A bulb must be inserted for the switch to operate. When removed, the push bar returns to the off position, cutting power to the lampholder.
It is also a threaded lampholder meaning you can attach a shade. To fit a shade, place the shade carrier ring onto the lampholder above the skirt, then screw on the shade ring. This securely clamps the shade in place.
Important Information Regarding Lampholder
This 1/2″ lampholder will NOT fit the 1/2″ BSP gas pipe, BSP gas pipe is alot larger in diameter and is a totally different thread style.

Safety Info: Do not try to force the push bar without a lamp fitted, it will not slide. Also, as this is a metal lampholder, please ensure you use a 3 core mains flex to provide an earth connection to this lampholder.
