Fixing a lampholder to a ceramic or glass style lamp base

How to fix a lamp holder to a ceramic and glass style lamp base.

Below is a list of possible ways to attach your lamp holder to a ceramic and glass style lamp base.

Fixings:

The main concept of fixing the lamp holder to the delicate item is a nut and bolt style or a clamping method.
Pottery nipple is designed to be pushed up from inside the ceramic item then a lampholder attached ontop.(if you can get your hand inside)
Another option is a long allthread rod that you can put a nut on either end to hold it in place.
This can vary depending on the style of your light fitting.

Nuts and washer will need to be used if using the all thread rod.
We sell a wide range of washers of different sizes depending on how big the hole is on the lamp base.
Please Note:The nut covers below are only 25mm diameter so if your using a larger washer the nut cover will not hide the washer.

Fixing Accessories: (Optional)

Depending on the fixing options above you may need these.
The Nut covers are designed to cover a nut (if used) on top to hold the allthread rod in place.

Extender's: (Optional)

You may want to extend/raise the lamp holder away from the lamp fitting.

ES Lamp holders:

The plain lamp holder means you cannot attach a shade to it.
The threaded lamp holder means you can attach a shade ring but may need to add shade rings to your order.
Please Note: If your using a Metal lamp holder you will need to use a 3 core cable, And if your using a plastic lamp holder then you will need to use a 2core cable.

Cable Cord Sets:

These cable cord sets are made in a manufacturing plant and have moulded plugs and switches.
These are 2.5meters long and switch is located approx 800mm from the un terminated end.

Please Note: The hollow holes in the following bung's will be very tight to push cable through, 14-15mm | 25-28mm | 29-32mm | 33-36mm.
You may need to strip away the cloth as it enters the bung.

Cable Protection:

If you passing a cable through a rough hole then you will need to use a grommet.
This will protect the cable and stop it from being cut, or if using a cloth cable stop the cloth from getting caught and ripping.

Cord Grip:

You will need to use a cord grip on your installation as you do not want the cable from being pulled out when turned on.
There are several different types of cord grips you can use for this application.
One of the most common ones is a standard push through type, this sits inside the item. (if you can get hand inside)
If your using a cord grip with a male thread on the outside you will need to add a nut of glue it in place.
